Wise County Veterans Memorial Park

The Wise County Veterans Memorial Park is located in Decatur, Texas, on the corner of E. Ash Street and N. Trinity Street.  The project was a joint venture between the Wise County Veterans Group and the City of Decatur. 

Eighteen brass placards along the "Path of Sacrifice and Valor" walkway commemorate the sacrifices of American soldiers from the Revolutionary War to current date.  The walkway is lined with brick pavers that hold the names of 1,500 veterans.  There is space for a total of 7,000 veterans to be permanently honored.

An eternal flame sets at the center of the park, signifying the price that must be paid for our freedoms.
