Lake Bridgeport is located in North Texas and was created by damming the Trinity River. The lake is owned by the Tarrant Regional Water District and the water is used for irrigation, flood control, and recreation. Construction of the lake’s dam began in 1929 and was completed in 1931. Lake Bridgeport is a popular freshwater fishing spot for anglers. Some of the fish species present in the lake are Largemouth Bass, Sand Bass, Crappie, Hybrid Bass, and Sand Bass. Lake Bridgeport is also a popular boating destination. There are many boat ramps and marinas located at various locations along the lake. Camping is also a popular activity at the lake along with swimming and a few other water sports. Wise County Park is located on the lake and provides camping and day use facilities.
